On Tuesday, January 12, the Caribbean nation of Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake that has devastated the lives of its residents and so much of its capital city, Port-au-Prince.
Every day, life presents us with “teachable moments.” The recent catastrophe in Haiti is one of these moments. This is an opportunity for all of us to teach our children empathy and global citizenship. This is a time for us to lead by example and to teach our children love and compassion by caring for others.
The Village Babies community is seeking your help in assisting the people of Haiti in any way that you can. Donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, toys, etc. will be collected and forwarded to the Yéle Haiti Foundation, a grassroots movement that builds global awareness for Haiti while helping to transform the country through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment. Yéle’s community service programs include food distribution and mobilizing emergency relief. You may also make a $5.00 donation by simply texting, YELE to 501501. 100% of your donation will go directly to the Earthquake Relief Fund.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to stop by the office or call us.
Thank you in advance for your support of this important cause!
